New

  • Extensions: Add third-party tools to web and desktop, with their own panels, pages, and chat actions. Get started with using extensions or building your own. A catalog of our own and community-made extensions is coming soon to the OpenChamber website (thanks to @AlexKutas).
  • Themes: Browse VS Code themes from Open VSX or import a theme file in Settings. Choose individual color variants and remove imported themes from the theme picker.
  • Projects: Choose a default agent for new chats in each project, including chats in its worktrees (thanks to @MltStephane).
  • Files: Keep the file tree open while the editor is closed, so you can browse your project alongside the chat (thanks to @cmdaltctr).

Improvements

  • Desktop: The app window opens much faster.
  • Sessions: Sticky sidebar headers now fade smoothly between sections as you scroll, keeping the current section’s name and actions within reach.
  • Themes: Menu text and selected items are easier to read, and code block backgrounds blend better with the rest of the app.
  • Chat: Agent labels and icons use more distinct colors from your theme, making agents easier to tell apart.
  • Appearance: The loading screen fades into the app without the logo changing colors between loading steps.

Fixes

  • Chat: Switching chats or starting a new one no longer loses your draft attachments or moves them to another chat.
  • Chat: Your chosen model no longer resets while models are loading. Thinking levels, including Default, are remembered after a reload.
  • Chat: Fixed growing memory use when switching between conversations.
  • Chat: Completed subagent results display formatted Markdown again (thanks to @bashrusakh).
  • Chat: The selection menu opens above or below the text you select, keeping it accessible for copying (thanks to @yulia-ivashko).
  • Context: Fixed incorrect percentages after compaction. The counter shows a dash until the next response reports usage (thanks to @yulia-ivashko).
  • Git: Fixed blank diffs for submodules and repeated errors for nested repositories. Changes now shows submodule status and identifies separate repositories (thanks to @yulia-ivashko).
  • Settings/Behavior: Instructions edited outside the app appear when you reopen settings, including when the file was cleared (thanks to @bashrusakh).
  • Desktop: Fixed background OpenCode and tool processes left behind after quitting the app, restarting OpenCode, or a failed start.
  • Files: Fixed file searches getting stuck in some repositories.
  • Files: Escape closes an open menu while keeping the file panel open.
  • macOS: The Dock’s unread badge keeps updating when the menu bar icon is disabled.
  • Mobile: Theme import fits above the keyboard, and long theme lists stay clear of the status bar and home indicator.

Misc

  • Usage: Removed Crof usage tracking after the service shut down (thanks to @kydorn).
  • Tooling: Updated Bun to 1.4.2 for local development, CI, and Docker images (thanks to @osztenkurden).
